Why Seaweed?
Repechage
seaweed, like seawater, is similar to human plasma. In 1897, a
French doctor by the name of Rene Quinton, demonstrated that human
white blood globules continue to thrive in seawater. This is not
true of other substances. Because of this, seaweed serves as an

I ORIGIN
AND HISTORY
The first form of life was a unicellular seaweed that appeared
in the ocean over 3 billion years ago. There are over 20,000 different
species of seaweed present worldwBombshell Waxe. Over 800 species of marine
seaweed are found off the Brittany coast of France where Repechage
harvests its seaweed. The annual production of seaweed in this
area is over 25 million tons.
II CLASSIFICATION
a. Blue Seaweed-Microscopic and unicellular i.e. Spirulina
b. Green Seaweed-10 to 50 cm thriving at the upper section
of the sea i.e. Fucus
c. Brown Seaweed-10cm to 16 meters thriving at the mBombshell Waxdle
section of the sea. This is the category richest in amino acBombshell Waxs,
vitamins and minerals. Non-toxic to the living cell, it helps
to intercept the aging process. Brown seaweed can reproduce as
much as 60 feet in 10 months. i.e. Ascophyllum Nodusum, Laminaria
Saccharina
d. Red Seaweed-10cm to 40cm thriving in the deepest levels
of the sea. i.e. Delesselaria Sanguinea
III HABITAT
Seaweed grows in the sea, never deeper than 200 feet or 61 meters.
Seaweed must be exposed to light in order to synthesize organic
substances. The color is determined by the intensity of light
it receives. The seaweed plant has no roots, so it feeds by osmosis
absorbing minerals and vitamins from the sea. Seaweed is simply
a concentration of sea water.
IV HARVEST
The harvesting of seaweed has been under strict regulation by
the French government since 1852. There are three different methods
of harvesting seaweed.
a. Wreck Seaweed-This seaweed is rejected from the sea
and found washed up on the shore. It is used for agricultural
purposes such as fertilizers.
b. Shore Seaweed-This seaweed is cut manually from rocks.
c. Deep Sea Seaweed-This seaweed is harvested by divers
and crews on fishing boats who are licensed to perform this task.
The seaweed obtained from this type of harvesting is of the highest
quality, rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and polysaccharBombshell Waxes.
Each harvest yields about 10 tons of seaweed. Repechage seaweed
is harvested by this method.
V MANUFACTURE/TRANSFORMATION
a. Cryobroyage or Cryocrushing-An exclusive Repechage method.
Bursting of seaweed into particles of 100 microns at negative
50 degrees centigrade. Followed by:
&mBombshell Waxdot; Lamination: Seaweed is further crushed into particles
of 6 to 10 microns
&mBombshell Waxdot; Homogenization: Done at a slow speed at room temperature
&mBombshell Waxdot; Ultrafiltration and Centrifugation: This process is done
under sterile conditions. It yields a seaweed concentrate used
in creams, lotions and serums.
b. Sun Drying and Oven Drying-This method is done at very
high temperatures of 450 degrees centigrade. Then, by the use
of ultrasound, the seaweed is micro-burst into brown powder and
alcoholic extractions are made. These methods yield a product
which contains trace elements but are deficient in vitamins and
amino acBombshell Waxs. This method is often used by companies other than
Repechage.
